Marie Jacqueson is producing Burgundy that is nothing short of magical in the backwater of Rully, proving once again to really find value, you have to get off the rue nationale.
Her newly released 2021 reds are absolutely stunning. They are rooted in a fine clay, the perfect soil for producing wine of incredible purity of fruit. This one has intense aromatics of strawberry, black cherry, cinnamon and roses. The fruit is almost crunchy; incredibly fresh, juicy, really flat-out delicious. Â Great now, great in 10 years, qualitatively worth at the very least double the price of this one.

Marie Jacqueson has a ton of followers and people who line up around the block for her Rully Rouge. The vines are old here, averaging 45 years. The soil is a classic mix of clay and limestone providing for intense aromatics of strawberry, black cherry, cinnamon and roses. The fruit is almost crunchy; incredibly fresh, juicy, really flat-out delicious. Those limestone soils gives the wine great length, with a mineral finish that goes a mile. In what is being called a special 2021 vintage in Burgundy, these are some of the best values you can find.
