Quality Vouvray typically starts around thirty bucks, but Jacques wanted to introduce this wine properly – and I’m certainly not complaining!

Everything I love about Loire Valley Chenin Blanc is here: gentle floral aromatics, beautiful orchard fruit flavors with just a whisper of wild honey, all kept bright and energetic by that signature Loire acidity. At 12% alcohol, it’s got this wonderful freshness and airiness to it that makes it a perfect companion for any occasion.

Jacques brought all that Sancerre precision to this project – the same meticulous vineyard work, the same respect for terroir, just applied to Chenin Blanc instead of Sauvignon Blanc. The result feels both classic Vouvray and yet uniquely Dumont.

Look, we’ve poured Jacques Dumont’s Sauvignon Blancs at Restaurant Nicholas and Barrel & Roost for years. We’ve offered his Sancerre and his Loire Valley Sauvignon in our emails too. It’s one of those wines that never lets you down – staff favorite, customer favorite, consistent quality vintage after vintage. So when Jacques called to tell me he was making his first-ever Vouvray, I’ll be completely honest with you: I was a little… skeptical.

Why mess with a good thing?!? At least I thought. Then I tasted the wine and was legitimately blown away.
