Inama Vin Soave Classico 2024

92 Points, James Suckling – 90 Points, Vinous

Inama’s method is simple yet difficult to replicate: pick white grapes at full ripeness, gently press them, allow the juice to settle, then conduct temperature-controlled, spontaneous malolactic fermentation with minimal filtering. The result is pure expression, beautifully balanced, aromatically expressive wines. It’s absolutely perfect for Spring, if we ever get one this year!

James Suckling detailed “Bright aromas of flowers, angelica and apricots” with a “silky attack, and graceful, refreshing acidity.” Vinous called it “Soft-textured yet energetic…leaving a lovely saline tinge.” And Jancis Robinson, easily one of the world’s stingiest and critics, called it “bright and lively” before finishing her review with just one word: “Textbook.”

92 Points, James Suckling
This is very intense with electric acidity. Dried apples, lemons and minerals with a salty undertone. Full-bodied with phenolic tension and an extremely long finish. Hints of oyster. Needs two or three years to show its greatness, but fantastic already.

90 Points, Vinous
The 2024 Soave Classico Vin Soave is sweetly scented, mixing mint, chamomile and lime zest with green melon. soft-textured yet energetic, it washes across the palate with ripe orchard fruits and crisp mineral tones, leaving a lovely saline tinge.

The now-third generation of winemakers continues to build on their family’s 50+ year incredible legacy. Recently, Antonio Galloni of Vinous referred to them as “one of Soave’s, actually Italy’s, most important producers” and talked about the “state of constant evolution and experimentation over the past few years” that has helped turn these gorgeous wines into perennial powerhouses.

Their method is simple but undeniable, and apparently hard enough to replicate that they continue to shine brighter than any of their neighbors. The white grapes are picked fully ripe, gently pressed and then left to settle before a temperature-controlled fermentation and spontaneous malolactic fermentation. This is why these wines are both beautifully balanced and aromatically expressive. Minimal filtering, minimal interference – pure expression.
