The legend of Burgundy and President of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Conti, Aubert de Villaine partners with his cousin, Larry Hyde, affectionately crowned by the SF Gate as, “The King of Carneros“. Together they account for hundreds of 90+ scores, consistent appearances in Top 100 wines of the year list but more importantly, dozens of years of making some of the highest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in their respective countries.
Today, we have unprecedented access to the latest and greatest wine in the Hyde de Villaine arsenal, ‘Le Debut Chardonnay’ from the legendary Hyde Vineyard in Carneros. This wine is a very special nod to the way DRC’s Montrachet is typically made and likewise the ‘Debut’ Chardonnay sees only used oak barrels as well as concrete to preserve the integrity of the site and capture the inherent energy of the young vines.
If you’re a Burgundy lover, a follower of Larry Hyde or just love wines made off the legendary Hyde Vineyard (Hyde, Aubert, Ramey, Abreu, Patz & Hall, etc.) then today’s offer is extra special. This wine is never available, it’s always sold out– but for us a small tranche has been tucked away for us for an email offer.

95 Points, James Suckling
Lots of straw, cooked apple, citrus and peach. Hints of jasmine and light vanilla cream. Full-bodied with nice layering and purity and a round, creamy texture.

Trust me, this is a fantastic Menetou-Salon. It’s one of those quintessential bottlings from the tiny region that perfectly exemplifies the early sweet and stone fruit flavors that you get backed by some racy acidty and an absolutely to die for mineral streak. This one comes from the coveted Kimmeridgian limestone terroir and vines that are all at least 40 years in age. That gives this so much energy, concentration and lift – it’s a treat!

If you’ve never heard of Bisci, let’s start here. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate called Giuseppe Bisci’s Verdicchio “one of the finest I’ve ever tasted,” and noted that “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” A staple at $85/bottle for both French Laundry and Eleven Madison Park. “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” – The Wine Advocate
Just in time, we got back Vincent Ricard’s all-time great white wine bargain. This is a crisp, clean and flat out delicious Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The protege to the Silex-style of Dagueneau – who over the last 15 years has produced flawless and beloved white wines that at last count were on the wine lists of over 36 Michelin-starred restaurants. This is a great house white and one that can surely hold its own with just about everything on the table.
This one is so fruit friendly and inviting and also the perfect treat for some Italian food or fresh fish. It leads with beautiful notes of stone fruit, lemon, lime, and some acacia flowers. It’s delicate, but still full on the mouth, with good structure, freshness, and intensity.
