For generations, the Almondo family has tended vines of Arneis, the noble white variety of Piedmont. Their six hectares are at elevation, averaging 350 meters. The old vines of the single vineyard, Bricco delle Ciliegie, are rooted in sand that covers an old ocean bed. Their Vigne Sparse, offers readers probably the best bottle of Arneis for under $20 (on case orders). Their Le Rive is the gold standard of Italian white wine.
The new 2021 releases from the Almondo family are sensational. They come roaring right out of the gates, with tremendous energy and aromas flowing from the bottle. Both of these wines are beautifully made and structured with pristine, bright fruit, aromas of white flowers, almonds and a touch splash of sage. Pair that with the concentrated peach and citrus fruit and the Almondo’s signature mineral streak and you have a recipe for great success.
Each six-pack comes with 3 bottles each of the following wines:
Giovanni Almondo Roero Arneis Sparse 2021
Almondo Roero Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie 2021

91 Points, Antonio Galloni – Vinous
The 2020 Roero Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie is layered and creamy, yet retains terrific freshness throughout. Pear, ginger, white flowers and a hint of spice lend notable character to this inviting, compelling Arneis. Bricco delle Ciliegie is one of the great whites of Italy.
The 2018 is fresh off the temp-controlled boat and is once again, a sensory firework show.

Flat out delicious by itself as an aperitif or a terrific complement to just about anything fried or from the sea.
Year in, year out Château Turcaud produces one of the best white wine values in the world. It’s long been found on Michelin-starred wine lists in Paris and we’ve had it at the restaurant since Day 1. If you’ve ever tried this stunning, classic Bordeaux of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle, then you know why. The new 2022 vintage has arrived and it’s beaming with energy and pure stone fruits. This is a beauty as always.

If you’ve never heard of Bisci, let’s start here. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate called Giuseppe Bisci’s Verdicchio “one of the finest I’ve ever tasted,” and noted that “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” A staple at $85/bottle for both French Laundry and Eleven Madison Park. “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” – The Wine Advocate
We’re nearing the end of what was a flawlessly crafted, high energy coastal Chardonnay release from one of California’s hottest spots. It’s still every bit as bright and refreshing as you could want and it hits with clean, pristine green apple fruits, pears and citrus notes with a hint of that limestone-influenced minerality. It’s a fantastic wine for all seasons, the perfect pair with mixed seafood, summer tomatoes, corn and freshly caught fish.
93 Points, Decanter
Of course, the Trefethens’ Chardonnay history is well documented. It dates back to the Judgement of Paris and the 1979 Wine World Olympics hosted by the French publication Gault & Millau, where their Chardonnay finished first overall. That pursuit of excellence is still just as strong as ever, as evidenced by the family’s most recent Chardonnay bottling. It’s a 93-point beauty that absolutely dazzles, especially at its incredibly modest price tag.
