George Dickel 18-Year Bourbon Whisky

Category

The rarest and oldest in the George Dickel lineup, the 18-Year Bourbon Whisky is the flagship bottling in every sense. It’s aged gracefully in single-story rickhouses in the remote hills of Cascade Hollow and comes ready to play from the minute you open it up.

It’s a beautiful weighty Bourbon Whisky that hits you in waves of goodness. Bottled at 90 Proof (45% alc.), this mash comes in at 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley. It’s inviting, it’s complex and it’s a smooth bottling that’s certainly worthy of all the high praise it receives.

This is arguably the rarest bottle of Tennessee Whiskey out there right now. It’s a new and limited release that features a bourbon aged in charred oak and blended to perfection. It spent its slumber in Dickel’s single-story rickhouses and comes absolutely roaring right out of the gates. It’s a rich and powerful version with creamy notes of caramel, vanilla and creme brulee, with toasted walnuts, banana nut muffin, honey and a dash of carmalized sugar. It also has some inviting dried fruit and baking spice notes that come in as well. This is a truly special collector’s bottle. Unfortunately, I only have one to offer up!
