Foxglove Pinot Noir Central Coast 2019

Eric Asimov of The New York Times once stopped doing his “20 Under $20” column because, in his words, he “couldn’t keep mentioning Foxglove over and over.” That’s how good of a value these Varner Brother wines are. They are the Central Coast value kings.

Their 2019 is a vibrant Central Coast Pinot with lush notes of cherries and strawberries, rhubarb and even small hint of herbs. It’s a medium body silky number with a little spice on the finish that elevates it into something far beyond its price point. The warm climate and ocean influence create wines that burst with fruit but have plenty of vibrancy and freshness. Minimal oak, made with the same care and dedication as the much pricier Varner wines – just flat out delicious.

Original price was: $28.00.Current price is: $21.00.

The Varner brothers – Jim and Bob – are the most down-to-earth guys you’ll ever meet, and they’ve built a reputation for bringing the very best values not just from the Central Coast, but from all of California.

Jeb Dunnuck famously said, “Some of my favorite Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays in California come from Jim and Bob Varner.” Antonio Galloni calls their wines “both distinctive and highly expressive of site.” Eric Asimov of The New York Times even once stopped doing his “20 Under $20” column because, in his words, he “couldn’t keep mentioning Foxglove over and over.”
