The Vacqueyras Les Hauts De La Ponche is 50% Grenache and 25% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre. It actually reminds me of a Pomerol with its red and blue fruits as well as bouquet garni, damp earth, and floral nuances. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, I love its balance, and it has silky tannins and remarkable purity of fruit. Drink bottles over the coming 7-8 years.
Nestled amidst the rugged Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine Font Sarade has been crafting exceptional wines for generations. The family’s journey began in 1936 when René Devine established the estate, cultivating a deep connection to the land. Over time, the domain expanded its holdings across various appellations, including Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône, Ventoux, and Vin de Pays.
Under the stewardship of Agnés Devine and Bernard Burle, Font Sarade underwent a significant transformation. The couple shifted the focus from selling bulk juice to producing high-quality estate-bottled wines. With a passion for sustainable farming, they implemented eco-friendly practices to preserve the land for future generations. By carefully tending to their vineyards and understanding the unique characteristics of each terroir, Font Sarade consistently produces terroir-driven beauties that take you on a sensory journey.
