When Marjorie Gallet established her Domaine Le Roc des Anges in 2001, she was a twenty-three-year-old agricultural engineering graduate of Montpellier SupAgro (where she met her enologist husband, Stéphane), and had just completed an internship with Gérard Gauby, then the most famous producer in the Roussillon.
Together, the two work 14 hour days together in their biodynamic winery, practicing sustainable farming and making some of the best value wines in the world. Their Rosé is a bright and juicy wine, delivering high-toned flavors of strawberry and melon with plenty of extraction and length. It’s a traditional south of France blend of Grenache, Carignane and Syrah. It’s the perfect wine to sip slowly on its own or to pair with a summer salad or food off the grill!

As Grahm starts to dry-farm this vineyard, the concentration and flavors have only intensified. The latest batch of wines from him are the juiciest, most seductive I’ve tasted from Bonny Doon in the fifteen or so years I’ve been sampling these wines. Unsurprisingly, it has resulted in an increased demand as well as a plethora of big scores. Even his Rosé, which is shockingly affordable today at just $13/bottle, comes with some HUGE accolades for a pink wine that delivers well above its price range.
