Don Fulano Reposado Tequila

The Don Fulano Reposado hits a sweet spot somewhere between the Blanco and the Anejo. It’s also a great example of what sets Don Fulano apart from all the others. For this one, the family decided to use French Limousin oak and it’s amazing how well this meshes with the agave in the bottle. It’s both rich and buttery yet still delicate and not at all heavy. It has some herbalness, a touch of sweet but also some dried fruit and cocoa notes. I get some prune, some cooked pineapple, a little bit of vanilla and dark chocolate on the palate with a spicy finish that leaves you begging for more.

It was cooked for 28 to 32 hours in a traditional pinto and then open tank fermented for 72 to 86 hours. Like te Blanco, it also is distilled 80% in a Copper Pot 20% in a coffey still. This one matured for up to 11 months though, which is why it has such a smooth creaminess going for it. It was bottled at 80 Proof.

Light wooded notes offer a blanket of spicy sweetness that cradles the agave forward aromas. Flavor of roasted agave, light roast coffee, caramelized nuts, and candied pineapple cascade over the palate. The finish has a touch of vanilla to complement the wood roasted pineapple notes.
