It was actually quite a challenge, putting the faith and patience of even the most brilliant winegrowers to the test. Midway-through 2016, the winegrowers of Bordeaux were ready to write off the vintage.
The second coming of the Great Flood seemed to be upon the chateaux of Bordeaux with more rain than any farmer could remember. But Mother Nature smiled down perfect sunshine during flowering in the spring and then again at the end of June….and then never really stopped smiling. The absolute perfect second-half of 2016 allowed for ideal conditions for grapes to ripen into a miraculous, classic vintage, the best since 2010. You’re going to want to invest in the ‘16s…
After Parker’s 97 point call on the ‘16s, there will be a race to uncover all the unknown chateau that have made terrific wine. But with Ch Turcaud, we’ve got a bit of a head start.
