The 2022 Potensac has an intense bouquet with layered red and black fruit, cedar and light mint aromas. This is a Potensac with purpose. The palate is a little creamier than previous vintages on the entry, but then the tannic framework makes its presence felt. Firm grip, quite fresh and sappy with a fine thread of acidity maintaining poise. This is a superb Potensac.

The 2022 Château Potensac is darker and more concentrated, featuring currants, spring flowers, and graphite. Medium to full-bodied, with layered depth, balanced structure, and beautiful tannins, it’s a serious, structured Potensac.
Sometimes referred to as “Baby Leoville Las Cases”, Château Potensac is a widely super highly-regarded for their absurdly good values in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, with a history tracing back to the 18th century and has been under the ownership of the Delon family since 1870.
The estate is situated on a high point in the northern Médoc, near the village of Ordonnac, benefiting from unique terroir characterized by gravel, clay, and limestone soils. This combination, along with the maritime-influenced climate, contributes to the distinctive character of their wines.
Potensac is known for producing classic Médoc wines that are structured, firm, and often display a certain austerity in their youth, rewarding patient cellaring. The winemaking process is traditional, involving fermentation in both stainless steel and concrete vats, followed by aging in French oak barrels, a portion of which are often used barrels from their sister estate, Château Léoville Las Cases.
