“The 2010 Chateau D’Aiguilhe is beautiful, with a complex nuanced nose of red and black fruits as well as truffly earth, leather, and savory flowers. Medium-bodied, lively, and beautifully balanced, it’s drinking on point right now yet still has another decade. Drink 2025-2035.”

This is so good already. What an amazing precision of fruit for this wine, with a blackberry and blueberry character as well as minerals. Full and super silky with lovely fruit. Gourmand. Tasty. I want to drink it. Always great value!

Very lush and expressive, with caressing plum sauce, mulled blueberry and blackberry fruit and melted licorice and warm fruitcake flavors, all gliding together through the finish. Offers lovely range and a seductive mouthfeel.
Château d’Aiguilhe, nestled on the eastern fringes of Bordeaux in the Côtes de Castillon, exudes an irresistible allure, a testament to the masterful touch of Stephan von Neipperg (Canon La Gaffeliere).
This estate, benefiting from a superb clay-limestone terroir akin to its more famous Saint-Émilion neighbors, crafts wines that are both intensely seductive and elegantly powerful. A blend typically dominated by Merlot, with a significant embrace of Cabernet Franc, d’Aiguilhe’s reds whisper promises of dark, plush fruit, velvety textures, and an intoxicating complexity that belies its appellation.
These are wines that invite exploration, revealing layers of ripe cherry, cassis, and a subtle earthiness, often kissed with hints of spice. Each sip offers a luxurious experience, a sophisticated dance of richness and refinement that lingers forever on the palate. This is Right Bank value at its finest.
