Wine Spectator’s ‘Top 100 Most Exciting Wines of 2023″

You know that the Wagner family of Caymus fame refuses to rest on their laurels. The uber famous Napa Valley winemaking family continues to forge ahead with each passing vintage.  I’ve long suspected that they’re trying to make great wine from all over the world. The Schooner ‘Transit’ in Australia certainly seems like that’s the case!

Predominantly sourced from the prestigious Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale regions of Southern Australia, this Shiraz dominant blend that also features Cabernet Sauvignon is a BIG RED. It’s bold but very well put together and in my opinion, even features a little more flair to it than the Voyager. A mix of ripe red fruits, bramble, and spice, this is definitely a unique bottling from the legendary family.

In only their second vintage making this wine, they’re already starting to cash in. This baby recently earned a rave 91-point review from Wine Spectator who also included this wine in their list of ‘Top 100 Most Exciting Wines of 2023’. The Wagner family simply can’t be slowed down!

Original price was: $55.00.Current price is: $44.99.

The Caymus family sent shockwaves last year when they announced their expansion in Australia. Now, in only their second vintage, they’re already receiving big scores from Wine Spectator, the world’s stingiest wine reviewer.  Their Transit 2 (released at the end of 2023) is a scrumptious, unmistakably Caymus made wine that comes from the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale regions. It’s a Shiraz dominant blend with Cabernet Sauvignon that is extremely big and bold but super well put together and smooth. Caymus and Big Red fans, rejoice!
