The 2019 vintage in Tuscany was exceptional with fresh, balanced reds that are packed with finesse and real aging structure. The Montaperto Gran Selezione delivers all the goods and then some. This is a big, beautiful, full-bodied, black-fruited Chianti with strong flavors that is certainly not for the faint of heart. If you want light and fresh, keep looking! This beauty has some serious weight. James Suckling gave it 93 points calling it “seductive, well-balanced and focused” with a long, lively finish.” It’s a food-friendly, dark-fruited Sangiovese stunner that you simply can’t ignore.

Minimal intervention, light oak, pure Tuscan fruit. This is serious winemaking at a price that should be (and usually is) much higher than it is today. It doesn’t get much better than this.
