95 Points, James Suckling
This astonishing white Burgundy squares the circle of excellent ripeness and concentration with great freshness and vitality. Lovely aromas of bergamot and candied lime peel with a creaminess that’s deftly wrapped around the firm mineral core. Very long, focused and polished finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Unfiltered. Drink or hold.
Boris Champy Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Blanc ‘382’ Montagne 2022
95 Points, James Suckling
This is a memorable, age-worthy gem from Boris’s prized “Montagne de Cras” plot in Nantoux at 382 meters elevation. The name literally means “pebbles” in Celtic, and those ancient stony soils mixed with clay create exactly the kind of mineral backbone that separates serious Burgundy from everything else. Only three planted hectares of vines, with the rest left as natural habitat including rare corm trees whose hard wood was once used for grape press screws. Suckling’s 95-point review captures what makes this special: “lovely aromas of bergamot and candied lime peel with a creaminess that’s deftly wrapped around the firm mineral core.”

MORE INFO
Domaine Boris Champy is the new name for the historic estate that Boris Champy acquired in the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges, formerly known as Domaine Didier Fornerol. Since taking over in 2019, Champy has meticulously revitalized the property, forging a new identity built on a deep commitment to sustainable and authentic winemaking.
The Domaine’s philosophy is rooted in a profound respect for the land. Champy immediately initiated the process of converting all the vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming, believing that healthy soil is the key to expressing the truest character of the terroir. This minimalist in the vineyard and in the farmer is making big splashes in Burgundy and is a star to watch for years to come.
