Barnard Griffin is one of the oldest family-owned wineries in Washington. Rob has been recognized as the longest practicing winemaker in the state of Washington and recently celebrated his 41st vintage.
Rob Griffin, who runs the show grew up in Napa knowing that he wanted to one day be a winemaker and enrolled at UC Davis at the age of 17. Why delay the inevitable?!? He thought. After working in Napa, he moved up to the Columbia Valley and Walla Walla due to the ‘Wild West’ moniker that Washington wine had. That was back in 1983.
With the help of his wife Deborah, the Griffins make it all work and they’ve also recently welcomed their daughter, Megan Hughes, into the fold as Assistant Winemaker and Enologist. These wines are an amazing value made by a dedicated family of winemakers.
