La Commanderie de la Bargemone is a historic estate that was founded back in the early 13th Century and is conveniently located less than 10 miles away from the historic city of Aix-en-Provence. This is the hot bed for the fanciest, best versions of Provence Rose.
In 1250 AD, The Knights Templar built their compound of buildings known as “La Commanderie” in the heart of the surrounding farm fields, and the property was named “Bargemone” after the wealthy Provencal family that owned it for over 200 years. “La Commanderie” is a traditional Provence vineyard that has been dedicated to producing Rosé of the highest quality for decades and nothing else. These are the ones you look for when you want the best pink wines. Situated in a cool microclimate that allows a later harvest and longer growing season than most of Provence, the vineyard essentially represents a single terroir. That’s incredibly value and incredibly rare.
