#1 Wine of the Year (2023), Owen Bargreen Top 100 Wines
100 Pts, International Wine Report – 100 Pts, Owen Bargreen, 98+ Pts, Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2021 mainly comes from the Champoux Vineyard (90%) with the remainder coming from the Mach One Vineyard. A range of Cabernet Sauvignon clones are blended into this wine that spent 20 months in all new French oak before bottling. The aromatics really pop here with violets alongside potpourri and Turkish coffee, sandalwood, allspice dusted dates and shades of black licorice. The palate is generous, weightless and very generous as this is a total show stopper. Concentrated blue and black fruits with walnut, with creme de violette all brilliantly combine with the elegant mid-palate mouthfeel. Finishing extremely long, this is nothing short of perfection in a bottle. I don’t say this lightly but this is arguably the finest ‘Columbia Valley’ Cabernet Sauvignon that I have ever tasted. Give this three hours or more in the decanter if enjoying now. Drink 2024-2044-”
#1 Wine of the Year (2023), Owen Bargreen Top 100 Wines (2021)
100 Pts, International Wine Report (2020 + 2021 vintage)
This is a crazy rare two-pack opportunity that allows you to lock into not one but two consecutive 100-point vintages for this historic estate. Easily the best winery in Washington, maybe the best Cabernet Sauvignon producer in all of America, Quilceda Creek continues to raise the bar each vintage. You can lock into 1 bottle of the 2020 (100 pts, IWR) and 1 bottle of the 2021 (100 pts, IWR, 100 pts, OB) at a sensational price. No further discounts apply!
With seemingly infinite access to some of the absolute very best vineyards in the most choice AVAs in the valley, the Wagner’s set out to make Quilt– a Cabernet blend from a patchwork of the top sites in Napa (Oakville, St Helena, Atlas Peak, Coombsville, Calistoga, and Howell Mountain.) The brand new 2021 edition is a beauty – deeply concentrated, rich and a truly show stopping Cabernet. It’s a dark, hedonistic blend that combines elegance with power and pairs the two together effortlessly.
98 Points, James Suckling – 97 Points, Decanter
“This is fantastic. Intense and super long on the palate. It’s insanely complex yet subtle with so much going on, with a beautiful balance and tension. It is full and powerful with a big juicy character that goes on for minutes. Muscular yet covered with pretty fruit. Elegance with force. Hard not to drink.”
On the heels of a fabulous 2018 vintage, it seemed like the folks at Harlan Estate couldn’t go any higher. But with Harlan’s 2019 Estate earning a perfect 100-point score from Parker and the Bond Vecina nearly matching it with a 99, it’s clear that the wines being made here are a cut above everyone else. Lucky for us, The Mascot is a blend of Harlan, Bond and Promontory barrels. The Cabernet Sauvignon here is grown from some of the most spectacular vineyards in the entire Napa Valley. In the 2019 vintage, this is a dream come true for Will Harlan and company.
Anne Sery describes her Trousse Chemise Cabernets as an ode to the Left Bank and her winemaking roots. It’s a beautiful and fresh Cabernet with aromas that leap from the glass with of black raspberry, violets, and creme de liquor notes. The mouth gives generous amounts of juicy black fruits at the core with hints of baking spice and a smooth, savory finish. This is a terrific partner for just about anything from hard cheese, to poultry, summer salads, you name it!
97 Points, Jeb Dunnuck – 95 Points, Vinous
This one is an absolute beauty from the man behind the great Dominus and Inglenook projects, Christian Moueix. The wine is fantastic – far better than the Inglenook bottlings, some would even say equal to its big brother, Dominus. Still, at nearly half the price and with virtually the same huge scores, it’s one that you need to try for yourself – it deserves a place in the cellar without a doubt. It’s elegant and incredibly well-polished, sculpted with tremendous precision and focus throughout. The 97 points attached to it seems appropriate, especially in such a fantastic and ageworthy vintage. This one should enjoyed over the next 15-25 years.
96 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate – 96 Points, James Suckling – 96 Points, Decanter
“There are 6,500 cases of the superb 2006 Dominus (91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot). Its dark plum/purple color is accompanied by aromas and flavors of truffles, forest floor, black cherries, black currants, and Asian spices. One of the finest wines of the vintage, it is complete, full-bodied, and seamlessly built with beautiful ripe tannins, low acidity, and a luscious, layered mouthfeel. The aromatics are even more evolved and complex than the 2005’s. The 2006 should drink well for 20-25 years. These are the two strongest back to back vintages for Dominus since 1990-1991 and 2001-2002.” -Robert Parker, Jr.
