No one else has this. We’re first, and that’s only because Sea Smoke and I have an incredible relationship. We actually had a meeting at Barrel & Roost a few months ago about how we can do more work together, and this was the biggest takeaway I left with. What an incredible opportunity—like getting in on the ground floor with Sea Smoke two decades ago!
Botella was first introduced in 2001 as a Pinot Noir and quickly became a favorite among Sea Smoke enthusiasts. After a pause in production in 2015, Botella returns—now offered as both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay—sourced from select neighboring vineyards like Fiddlestix, La Encantada, and Sanford & Benedict in the Sta. Rita Hills. These are some of the most prestigious vineyard sources in California, planted on the distinctive mineral-rich Botella clay soils.
