Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2021

Sassicaia is today considered to be one of Italy’s greatest red wines for its consistent excellence and its intuitive spirit. The bottles are collector’s dreams, with many of them amongst the highest scored and age-worthy wines made each year.

The 2021 bottling is not like most years though – it is whatever the word is for beyond phenomenal. It’s extraordinary and simply going to be a must-have for serious wine collectors. Arguably the two most important wine critics in the world, Decanter and Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate agreed that this is a perfect 100-point wine. It is easily one of the best bottles in the world right now. The Wine Advocate called it “A quintessential Sassicaia that represents the excellence of the vintage”. Decanter called it “Superb” and “remarkably precise”.

Unfortunately, I was only allotted two six-packs of this extraordinary wine. Anyone lucky enough to snag a bottle is going to have a treasured addition to their wine collection for decades to come.
