Domaine Vincent Ricard Touraine Sauvignon Blanc Le Petiot 2020

His wines are universally beloved by the Nicholas wine’s clientele. Many have told me that today’s Petiot is the single best Sauvignon Blanc they’ve ever tasted for less than thirty bucks. Dozens of top sommeliers concur and at last count his wines were on the wine lists of over 36 Michelin-starred restaurants.

The Touraine, just west of Sancerre, is a terrific source for crisp and aromatic Sauvignon, originating from vineyards on the southern bank of the Cher River. Vincent’s vines are tended organically in flint-laden, calcareous soil which lends a great brightness to the wine. Le Petiot is made in tank to preserve the inherent fruitiness of Sauvignon.

It is a superb choice for a “cocktail” wine, as an aperitif or to accompany just about anything from sea. The real truth is there is no replacement for wines like this so stock up while we have it at the Tuesday night price!
