The Bisol “Jeio” Prosecco NV is a delicious sparkler that comes from the Veneto region of northeast Italy. A brilliant straw yellow color, the first sip is an intense and fresh nose of citrus fruits and saline sensations. If you love fruit forward sparklers… this one is for you.
For the first time ever in the U.S., Pink bubbles from our favorite, Bisol. The 2019 Bisol “Jeio” Prosecco Rose is a tasty, refreshing sparkler that comes from the Veneto region of northeast Italy. This is the first year the family has made a pink Prosecco, but I’m lobbying for this every year. Inviting aromas of flowers and wild strawberries, with a complex mouthfeel that sings with citrus fruits and creaminess from the tiny crisp bubbles. This is a ‘must have’ this holiday season.
We’re excited to be the first in line for Matt Cline’s new project. Budwood Ancient Vine Own Rooted Red is a blend of Carignan, Mataro and Alicante Bouschet. The color is a deep purple all the way to its rim. The nose is tell-tale Contra Costa, with dusty berry aromas mingled with eucalyptus and mint. Made without oak, the fruit is unadulterated, pure, dark and concentrated, the kind that only ancient vines can produce. The finish is fine, long with a firm acid backbone. This wine was made for outdoor dining, a burger has never met a better match!
What separates this Valpolicella from its peers is the grapes used were grown for this wine specifically. This isn’t Amarone seconds, it’s a precisely crafted and seductive rendition of the Corvina grape that will appeal to Red Burgundy lovers. Highly versatile and elegant, Ca La Bionda’s Valpolicella mesmerizes with red and blackberries, anise and Asian spices with serious depth.
Obviously, I can’t tell you all the details of the vineyard source but I can let you in on a few of the details. Crafted using fruit from 1000-1500 ft in elevation, Chad’s 2019 is cool climate Pinot at its best– especially given the price tag. While similar wines (very similar wines) will fetch a $45 price tag, you can snag it today just less than half off that price on bottle one. There’s no surprise this is the #1 wine of the year in 2020.
Year in, year out Château Turcaud produces one of the best white wine values in the world. It’s long been found on Michelin-starred wine lists in Paris and we’ve had it at the restaurant since Day 1. If you’ve ever tried this stunning, classic Bordeaux of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadlle, then you know why. The 2019 has just arrived, and it’s as fresh and as delicious as you could want. Enjoy.
The 2019 Clos Julien is a classic example of California coastal Chardonnay, zippy-fresh and long on the palate. It starts out with a great nose of Granny Smith apple, citrus rind and acacia. In the mouth, the fruit is pure, with plenty of extract and the finish is clean and crisp. This Pacific-influenced wine is the perfect house white, delicious by itself as an aperitif but a fantastic foil to the cuisine of summer, scallops, grilled poultry, and summer corn.
This picturesque estate lies in the commune of San Casciano, just outside of Florence. The pristine vineyards contain Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines, averaging 25 years in age. The family’s newly released 2019 Chianti is the result of a great harvest in Italy in the 2019 vintage with ideal conditions and no bad weather. This allowed for a lush, silky Chianti that’s just packed with red and black fruits and has just enough backbone to make it the perfect companion for just about any food dish. But this medium bodied delight is also a great spring sipper out on the deck in a glass by itself.
It’s no surprise the Wine Advocate has called the Ventoux a “screaming bargain.” Carved off the left bank of the Rhone River, the 2018 Delas Ventoux is a gorgeous medium-bodied wine with wonderful crushed red fruits, a silky mouthfeel, tremendous structure and that signature Rhone spice on the finish. $13/btl down to just $11.70/btl on cases– load up on this springtime Red and you will no doubt be thanking me later.
The best white wine of the summer has arrived. Bolognani has been a staple on our list since the day we opened the door. It’s everything you want in Pinot Grigio. It’s floral with a pretty nose, a juicy middle and the zippy finish. It’s an incredibly expressive, refreshing wine that has all the goods– it’s aromatic, crisp and clean.
A beautiful new release from Vincent Ricard! This is the work of super old vines and tiny yields- making super concentrated, vibrant Sauvignon Blanc from vineyards in the Loire Valley. Better than most Sancerre twice its price, Le Petiot has a great depth of flavor and a viscous, satin-like texture. The finish is persistently fruity with a good dose of minerality. This is a can’t miss for the Sauv Blanc lovers!

It’s hard to imagine a wine that delivers more bang for your buck and consistency than what Herve Fabre is able to produce from his 100+ year old vines each vintage. Last year, his Malbec Reserva landed on Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Buys of the Year. Tasted last week, I expect similar accolades will roll in soon for this one. It’s a big, full-bodied Malbec with The 2018 Reserve Malbec from the heart of Mendoza is garnet in color with inviting aromas of raspberry pie, sage, herbs and roasted mushrooms. This is a wine that pairs perfectly with some cooler weather.
