Sierra Del Mar Pinot Noir Central Coast 2017
The 2017 Sierra del Mar Pinot Noir is sourced from two distinctly different vineyard locations: one from Monterey in the Central Coast and the other in Clarksburg near the Sacramento Delta. The combination makes for a super cool wine– one that comes from both a cool coastal climate that has foggy mornings and sunny evenings vs one that enjoys early morning sunshine which is moderated by the early afternoon breezes from the San Francisco Bay.
The result of these two vastly different eco-systems is a racy Pinot Noir with vibrant crushed red fruits, followed by a hint of vanilla and oak. It’s extremely well-balanced and offers a superb value — not many Pinot Noirs anywhere are made this good at the price that this could be had for today.
Laroche Mas La Chevalière Rose 2019
Mas La Chevalière is the product in the South of France by the phenomenal Domaine LaRoche in Burgundy. This zesty rosé is a seamless blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault in the 2019 vintage. It’s packed with bright red fruits led by raspberries and bing cherries and it’s extremely refreshing and light on its feet while managing to have a lot of body.
Bisci Verdicchio di Matelica 2019
In these uncertain times, a wine that’s usually nearly entirely allocated to the French Laundry and Eleven Madison Park is available for the taking. It’s easy to see why restaurants absolutely love this wine. It’s geeky and interesting; you would never know what the wine is supposed to cost. Kept in cement vats for 8 months, the wine comes out of the bottle extremely expressive with aromas of citrus fruit and jasmine, and delicious flavors of apple, Asian pear, lemon with a dash of sea salt.
Nichols Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Nichols 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the steep, rocky hillsides of St Helena just northwest of Lake Hennessey from dry-farmed, Napa-Green Certified vines that produce tiny, thick-skinned berries. This is the source of the wow-factor in Nichols Cabernet. The ’18 is flashy, with dark, powerful fruit yet balanced by fine tannins and great length, hallmarks of that long growing season

Every year, Pierre Sparr’s Alsacian Riesling is one of the top scoring wines in the under $20 category. There’s a consistency there and consumers know they can count on a Riesling that is aromatic, fruity, elegant, clean and vibrant. Pierre Sparr wines are extremely food-friendly especially in the widely praised 2021 vintage where quality rose to an all-time high. It’s a bone-dry beauty with layers of citrus fruits, framed by wet stone and mineral character that adds dimension.
At 350 feet above sea level, growing seasons are often extended with warm days and cool, breezy nights. The diurnal changes of temperature help create healthy vines and grapes that are packed full of complexity, concentration and energy. Ain’t a whole of Provence wineries that can compare. We’ve offered Val de Caire’s spectacular Provence Rouge before, but their bread and butter wine, the Coteaux d’Aix en-Provence Rose has finally been imported into the U.S. for the first time. People are gonna go nuts for this wine.
This champagne is so good, it’s often a staple on the wine lists of Michelin two and three star restaurants. It offers elegant aromatics, pristine fruit and the crisp, mineral finish that screams for food. We loved it so much, we asked Jacques Diebolt to bottle a special cuveé for the restaurant– and he happily agreed, but unfortunately it sold out like hot cakes. No matter, here is old faithful. Just as delicious and memorable as I remember it.
91 Points, Tasting Panel – 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast
There’s a consistency to Pierre Sparr wines that consumers just know they can count on throughout the entire portfolio. The wines deliver aromatics, elegance, clean fruit and are packed with vibrancy. They also happen to be extremely food-friendly, especially in the past few vintages where yields were down but quality rose to an all-time high. This is a bone-dry beauty with layers of citrus fruits, framed by wet stone and mineral character that adds dimension.
