These are some of the bottles I grabbed for myself to pour at the Harary house this spring. Perfect for the upcoming nice weather, this spring case features four great wines (3 btls each). We have two great white wines, one from an Italian white wine legend, and the other from France’s hottest white wine region outside of Sancerre. We have a great Red wine for grilling with the Nicholas Wines favorite, “Butterfly Effect” from our organic winemakers in the Roussilon and we have a delicious, crisp, brand new lip-smacking Rose from our friends at Benoni. Plus, it’s 26% off regular prices!
Two of these wines have never been offered before (Benoni Rose, Renaudat Reuilly Blanc), one hasn’t been offered in a long-time but is a Michelin-star restaurant favorite and perfect for food coming off the grill (Effet Papillon) and one is an old-vine Arneis from one of Italy’s all-time great white wine producers, that is poured at both Union Square Cafe and Del Posto. Not too shabby!
Every spring case includes:
(3 btls) Effet Papillon Rouge Cotes du Roussilon 2020
(3 btls) Benoni Rose of Pinot Noir Oregon 2021
(3 btls) Almondo Roero Arneis Vigne Sparse 2020
(3 btls) Valery Renaudat Reuilly Blanc 2020

“The 2018 Palmer is a legend in the making…This audacious Palmer was still revving its engines 48 hours after opening. There will never be another Palmer like this, sui generis. It was a massive risk. But by throwing caution to the wind, something extraordinary was born.” -100 points, Vinous

“Vignon’s 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape delivers even more than I hoped for based on a previous sample. Hints of garrigue, roses, cherries and raspberries appear on the nose, while the palate is full-bodied, silky and long, with an intense, almost briny finish. The assemblage is 50% Grenache, 10% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, plus smaller proportions of seven other permitted varieties, while the élevage includes foudres, demi-muids, concrete and wooden tanks, plus terracotta amphorae.”
The 2021 Napa Valley East side Cuvee is an instant classic. From the first whiff to the moment it hits the lips, its clear that this is a fabulously concentrated, serious wine: black in color, and featuring aromas of cassis, cedar and chocolate-tinged purple fruit. The mouthfeel is plush and voluptuous with a firm, solid finish that speaks to its potential for considerable aging.

“The 2020 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is truly sensational. It begins with striking aromas of fresh blackberries, blueberries and dark plums that are laced with fresh spring florals, mocha, sweet exotic spices, graphite and gravel nuances all taking shape. The palate is full-bodied and displays a remarkable combination of power and elegance throughout. This is beautifully structured and extremely expressive, as it possesses outstanding depth and concentration all they way through the long, finessed finish. Year after year, the Columbia Valley Cabernet is one of the most impressive wines, and there is no exception here, as it combines all the wonderful qualities of the 2020 vintage from Quilceda Creek into one expression. This is fantastic already and readers will be in for a real treat, as this simply marvelous wine will continue to deliver the goods for years to come.”
