Ca ‘Bolani sits on the Italian coast, in the heart of the Aquileia Doc near the border of Slovenia. It was acquired by the famous Zonin family of Veneto as their first acquisition outside the region, and they quickly turned it into what it is today – one of the crown jewels of Friulian viticulture. They lined the estate with 999 cypress trees that celebrate and protect an extraordinary biodiversity. It’s truly a brand that continues to grow each year as it gains fans with its commitment to bringing extraordinary elegance at such reasonable prices.
For my money, there aren’t many $15 Pinot Grigios within the same stratosphere here. In case you haven’t noticed, your favorite Alto Adige PGs are starting to average out closer to $25/bottle – a price that most people would’ve thought was insane.
Of course, you’re seeing this kind of stuff everywhere, but when there’s truly pure, elegant mouthwatering Pinot Grigio out there for $15/bottle, you’d be crazy not to scoop it up!
This one is so fruit friendly. It leads with beautiful notes of stone fruit, lemon, lime, and some acacia flowers. It’s delicate, but still full on the mouth, with good structure, freshness, and intensity.

The 2016 vintage in Napa was nearly perfect for winemaker Kian Tavakoli (Opus One, Clos du Val). With ideal weather all throughout harvest, he crafted the Faustini Money Road Chardonnay off the famous vineyard located in the coveted Oakville AVA. The picturesque vineyard off Oakville Crossroad is platinum rated, known for its ideal combination of soil & climate and the big A list names that routinely source fruit. Kian’s Money Road Chard is still youthful despite having a few years of age, probably as a result of its 18 months of slumber in 1/4 new Oak.
We’re nearing the end of what was a flawlessly crafted, high energy coastal Chardonnay release from one of California’s hottest spots. It’s still every bit as bright and refreshing as you could want and it hits with clean, pristine green apple fruits, pears and citrus notes with a hint of that limestone-influenced minerality. It’s a fantastic wine for all seasons, the perfect pair with mixed seafood, summer tomatoes, corn and freshly caught fish.
Glistening pale yellow-green to the rim, infused with mouth-watering aromas of ripe apple, pear and quince, and crushed almonds with honey and rich creamy middle and a fantastic rush of acidity and minerality that are present throughout. A calling card of Bonhomme’s Vire-Clesse, if you closed your eyes and took a sip, it would have you convinced you were drinking Meursault at least a 3x price tag.
90 Points, James Suckling
The uber-rare under $10/bottle summer score at Nicholas Wines! This wine is just so pleasing. It has an attractive nose of white flowers, stone fruit, and citrus and a bright, medium-bodied mouthfeel with vivid white fruits, straw, grapefruit, and a streak of minerality that runs all the way through the long, dry finish.
