I figured if I’m going to offer up three great white wines that you might not be familiar with, it’s only right I throw it in a sampler pack at a killer introductory price for those of you who take the leap. This is the ultimate spring sipper case, perfect for hosting or for sipping by the pool. Crisp, mineral white wines that cost less than $20/btl but taste like a $50. My kind of wine. This year, I snagged one great selection from each of Europe’s Big 3 winemaking countries…
Each sampler case includes 4 bottles of each of the following:
Familia Torres Celeste Sur Lies Verdejo 2021 (92 pts, James Suckling)
Domaine Saint Amant Côtes du Rhône La Borry 2020 (Crisp, high-altitude French white)
Brunori Verdicchio ‘Le Gemme’ 2021 (Day 1 staple at Restaurant Nicholas and Balthazar)

One wine that will never be rated, nor see a top 100 list is the one we have today. That’s not a bad thing – it’s just their ‘secret Chardonnay.’ It’s never released to the general public or retail, only a few hundred cases are made each year to service the restaurant industry. But luckily for us, I’ve got a restaurant. And while the Sonoma Coast bottling is definitely the ‘calling card’ that you’re used to seeing from this great estate, I’m telling you the Russian River Valley Chardonnay blows that one out of the water.

If you’ve never heard of Bisci, let’s start here. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate called Giuseppe Bisci’s Verdicchio “one of the finest I’ve ever tasted,” and noted that “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” A staple at $85/bottle for both French Laundry and Eleven Madison Park. “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” – The Wine Advocate
This is a super elegant Meursault from the family-run estate located in the village of Monthelie, between Volnay and Meursault in the heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. It leads with nutty aromas of brioche, fresh butter and delicate citrus and is extremely well structured, long and stylish with great purity of fruit.
One of the best places to look for great Tuesday nighters are the sandy, limestone-laden hills of Asti. And within Asti, there is no white wine calling card that holds a candle to Moscato. Here it is king. Gianni Doglia naturally farms a tiny estate in the picturesque hamlet of Castagnole Lanze. His Moscato is the product of old vines, vinfied without oak to preserve its incredible fruit. This is serious, high-quality and hand-harvested Moscat, that oozes with sweet tropical fruits and a hint of minerality that stays on your tongue with each sip. This is also the perfect wine for anyone searching for a low alcohol option as well.
