This year I’ve cooked up something totally special for the Bourbon Buyers Club members. I even held some whiskey back to make it all possible. I have our first ever Santa’s Whiskey Trio, with three of my own Nicholas Single Barrel Whiskeys at a fantastic price. Unfortunately there is a cap on these, as my barrel from Eddie Russell came with a hilariously low quantity, maybe the smallest single barrel ever produced! Every year ‘the angels share’ knocks the bottle count down due to natural evaporation during the distilling process, but this year my barrel from Russell’s was no joke only 42 bottles! So alas, no Russell’s offer and instead 42 of Santa’s Whiskey Trios are up for grabs. Each trio includes:
1 btl: Clyde May’s 5 Year Nicholas Single Barrel Selected Bourbon Whiskey
1 btl: Maker’s Mark Private Selection Nicholas Barrel Reserve #2
1 btl: Russell’s Reserve ‘Private Single Barrel Selection’ Bourbon Whiskey #6

92 Points, Wine Enthusiast
This is a huge favorite of folks in the Red Bank area. It’s a bold, unapologetic Chardonnay with juicy notes of peach, lemon sorbet, baking spice and vanilla with a rich, creamy middle and plenty of natural acidity to balance it out. The lemon vanilla finish is perhaps the wine’s calling card or the sheer drinkability of it all. Either way, it’s a Chard that people adore. It’s no wonder Wine Enthusiast called this, “a big win for fans of this bold style”.
The juice here is so pure and elegant, it tastes much more like a $80/bottle of Tequila than one going for half the price, but that’s why I love these single barrel deals so much. The value is insane. This Reposado spent just under 12 months in used bourbon barrels. Golden brown with fresh agave, oak & vanilla. Remarkably smooth finish. This is one of those oddball tequila’s that is good enough to just sip on the rocks but cheap enough to use to make one hell of a margarita.
#1 Whisky of the Year (2023) – Whisky Advocate
“Our annual Top 20 Whiskies list is always filled with A-list names, along with a few lesser-knowns that make the grade. But it’s unusual for one of the latter to outshine the entire field, yet that’s precisely what happened this year, as Whisky Advocate’s panelists plucked a relative unknown from a group of big-name contenders. As we tasted, little did we know there was an upset in the making. Winning in a nearly unanimous vote, single malt scotch Glenglassaugh Sandend became our 2023 Whisky of the Year.” -Whisky Advocate
The wine is so dang good, nearly every single one of my staff tried to take the sample bottle home when it was brought into the restaurant. It’s just so juicy, lively and pure. Even without the score, this is a total layup. This is a gorgeous French Rosé at an absurd price. One of the absolute best quality-to-price ratio offers of the year, every single year… no questions asked.
