Piper-Heidsieck’s worldwide success is attributed to the passion and expertise of its chief winemakers. From top to bottom, the entire operation is run with incredible care and thoughtfulness, setting the industry standard for their procedures and practices. Régis Camus, Chief Winemaker of Piper-Heidsieck, received the prestigious title of “Sparkling Winemaker of the Year”, awarded by the International Wine Challenge jury, eight times since the beginning of the century. The flagship release is the 2006 Champagne Rare, a 70/30 split of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that’s a cellar selection from 8 different Grand Cru vineyards. Tight, backward, and straight-up structured, it offers brilliant notes of stone fruits, toasted brioche, white flowers, and obvious minerality. Needing plenty of air to show at its best, this beauty has a wonderful mid-palate, a racy mousse, and the balance and class to cruise for over two decades in cool cellars.
96 Points, Wine Spectator
Aromas and flavors of toasted brioche and grilled nut enrich the yellow plum, nectarine and grated ginger notes of this rich and creamy Champagne. Finely woven and beautifully integrated, with a firm backbone of mouthwatering acidity providing precise balance for the lush range of flavor. Drink now through 2029.

94 Points (Best Buy), Wine & Spirits
“Deep in color and vinous in its red fruit, this is a spicy and compelling rosé. There’s pristine strawberry flavor at its core, surrounded by accents of red grapefruit, blood orange and fennel. The wine’s intensity rises like its bubbles from base note to high notes, leaving a pale red fruit ghosting in the finish.”
91 Points, Vinous – 91 Points, Wine & Spirits
“The 2019 Brut from Alta Langa, is remarkably pretty, with a delicate blend of peaches and young mango complicated by hints of incense and spice. This displays round, soothing textures and juicy acidity with a core of tart orchard fruits that add a lovely tension toward the close. It finishes with medium length, leaving a twang of sour citrus and a steely minerality that adds a tactile touch. The 2019 is beautifully crafted and displays incredible balance. Well done. This is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay”
The aristocratic 2002 Savigny-les-Beaunes 1er cru Lavieres is just starting to hit its stride. The color is a bright, ruby red, with a marvelous bouquet of dark fruits laced with savory spice. The earth-tinged fruit is fresh and fine, dancing across the palate, vibrant and quite long. We drank this over a few hours; its development in the glass was a pleasure. There are so many layers to this wine, be sure to take your time with it.
Fresh off a huge feature in The Wall Street Journal in which they were crowned as the top Prosecco Rose in a lineup of 14, I suspect what was once our little secret will explode. James Suckling also finally got around to tasting it and gave it 91 points. I’d rate it even higher. The 2021 Bisol Jeio Brut Prosecco Rosé is remarkable, and simply put, mouth-wateringly delicious. Inviting aromas of flowers and wild strawberries, with a complex mouthfeel that sings with citrus fruits and creaminess from the tiny crisp bubbles.
