The House of Delamotte is the fifth-oldest Champagne house in the region, first founded in 1760. It is located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The Delamotte production is small (just 25,000 cases annually) and remains one of Champagne’s best-kept secrets. It is the sister winery of the legendary House of Salon. The two wineries sit side-by-side and are both run by Didier Depond.
The new release is a particularly tasty treat, especially available in the large format size. It’s powerful but not aggressive, with a bold freshness roundness on the palate and a clean, crisp finish.
“Delamotte has always been somewhat of an insider’s house, producing high quality at realistic prices. One of the best buys in exquisitely crafted Champagne.”
– Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

95 Points, Tasting Panel
A luscious and generous effort with depth and fine acidity. Anything but austere yet balanced and elegant; fresh, stylish, and long.
91 Points, James Suckling
Quite impressive richness and gently toasty aromas on the nose here with almond, savory and sweet, bready autolysis notes. The palate has a fresh, succulent and smooth feel with soft, citrusy fruit flesh. Holds long. Drink now.

Fresh off a huge feature in The Wall Street Journal in which they were crowned as the top Prosecco Rose in a lineup of 14, I suspect what was once our little secret will explode. James Suckling also finally got around to tasting it and gave it 91 points. I’d rate it even higher. The 2021 Bisol Jeio Brut Prosecco Rosé is remarkable, and simply put, mouth-wateringly delicious. Inviting aromas of flowers and wild strawberries, with a complex mouthfeel that sings with citrus fruits and creaminess from the tiny crisp bubbles.
This champagne is so good, it’s often a staple on the wine lists of Michelin two and three star restaurants. It offers elegant aromatics, pristine fruit and the crisp, mineral finish that screams for food. We loved it so much, we asked Jacques Diebolt to bottle a special cuveé for the restaurant– and he happily agreed, but unfortunately it sold out like hot cakes. No matter, here is old faithful. Just as delicious and memorable as I remember it.
91 Points, Tasting Panel – 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast
There’s a consistency to Pierre Sparr wines that consumers just know they can count on throughout the entire portfolio. The wines deliver aromatics, elegance, clean fruit and are packed with vibrancy. They also happen to be extremely food-friendly, especially in the past few vintages where yields were down but quality rose to an all-time high. This is a bone-dry beauty with layers of citrus fruits, framed by wet stone and mineral character that adds dimension.
The newly released 2022 Domaine Laroche Chablis Saint Martin has some big shoes to fill as the last four vintages have earned 92-points or higher, but the early indications are that this is line with previous vintages if not even a little bit ahead at this stage. The problem is – there’s almost none to go around with much smaller yields. Still this is beautiful and crisp, with good focus, energy and depth. I get the signature green fruits on the nose, with some Asian pear, and a hint of jasmine blossom. There’s a beautiful mineral streak that highlights this one. It’s a fantastic White Burg for the price.
