This picturesque estate lies in the commune of San Casciano, just outside of Florence. Joshi Goldschimdt is a farmer first; his pristine vineyards contain Sangiovese, ranging in age from 5 to 35 years, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines, averaging 20 years in age. The vines are tended organically, the grapes, hand harvested.
The Cornazello Rosato that this wonderful organic estate crafts each year is not your typical Rose, and that is highlighted with their 2019 effort. The wine absolutely sings in the glass– a beautiful Rose of Sangiovese rounded out with a drop of Merlot. 91 Points from Eric Guido who absolutely gushed about the wine. You can read his review below:
“The 2019 Il Corzanello Rosato is refined and fresh in the glass, showing dried florals with citrus-tinged peach and pear on the nose. Silky textures soothe the palate, delivering ripe orchard fruits with a tug of zesty acids and minerals, gaining a hint of sweet spice toward the close. The finish is long and full of energy, and with a hint of yellow tropical fruits. This Sangiovese Rosato is seamless and so enjoyable from start to finish.” –91 Points, Vinous

“Aromas of bark, dark cherries and flowers, too. It’s medium- to full-bodied with purity of fruit that runs the length of the wine. It goes on for minutes. Very fine tannins. From organically grown grapes. Needs three or four years to completely come together, but gorgeous. Drink after 2026.” -James Suckling
Recently Wolffer Estate has expanded their famous Rose line to now include a Cotes de Provence Rose. For my money, it’s hands down a better bottling – an energetic and super fresh pink wine created from the French staple Rose grapes of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah as opposed to the Long Island version that has a whole lot of varietals mixed in. It’s bright and balanced and the perfect treat for the pool or beach as the weather warms.

The Bisol “Jeio” Prosecco NV is a delicious sparkler that comes from the Veneto region of northeast Italy. A brilliant straw yellow color, the first sip is an intense and fresh nose of citrus fruits and saline sensations. If you love fruit forward sparklers… this one is for you.

If you’ve never heard of Bisci, let’s start here. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate called Giuseppe Bisci’s Verdicchio “one of the finest I’ve ever tasted,” and noted that “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” A staple at $85/bottle for both French Laundry and Eleven Madison Park. “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” – The Wine Advocate
