Aljoscha Goldschimdt is the owner and winemaker of Corzano e Paterno. This picturesque estate lies in the commune of San Pancrazio, just outside of Florence. Joshi is a farmer first; his 14 hectare of pristine vineyards are organically tended and are cropped at a low yield. Corzano e Paterno is an organic farm in northern Chianti, making cheese from the milk of 800 Sardinian sheep on one side of the property and making mostly Chianti on the other. The white wine is a rarity, only 800 cases produced.
The Il Corzanello Bianco is a blend of six varieties, each variety adding it’s own special character to this aromatic, zippy Tuscan white. It’s intensely fruit yet fresh and mineral with a long finish. This “Chianti Bianco” in 2018 is super, absolutely perfect with just about anything outdoors!

The 2018 is jump-out-of-the-glass aromatic, with peachy-juicy fruit and zippy acidity that makes it both the best of apertifs and incredibly versatile at the table.

Perfect outside on the deck or by the pool, it’s great with cheese and dried meats as well as appetizers and salads.
92 Points, Wine Enthusiast
This is a huge favorite of folks in the Red Bank area. It’s a bold, unapologetic Chardonnay with juicy notes of peach, lemon sorbet, baking spice and vanilla with a rich, creamy middle and plenty of natural acidity to balance it out. The lemon vanilla finish is perhaps the wine’s calling card or the sheer drinkability of it all. Either way, it’s a Chard that people adore. It’s no wonder Wine Enthusiast called this, “a big win for fans of this bold style”.
The newly released 2022 Domaine Laroche Chablis Saint Martin has some big shoes to fill as the last four vintages have earned 92-points or higher, but the early indications are that this is line with previous vintages if not even a little bit ahead at this stage. The problem is – there’s almost none to go around with much smaller yields. Still this is beautiful and crisp, with good focus, energy and depth. I get the signature green fruits on the nose, with some Asian pear, and a hint of jasmine blossom. There’s a beautiful mineral streak that highlights this one. It’s a fantastic White Burg for the price.
2021 #67 WS Top 100
If you’ve never heard of Bisci, let’s start here. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate called Giuseppe Bisci’s Verdicchio “one of the finest I’ve ever tasted,” and noted that “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” A staple at $85/bottle for both French Laundry and Eleven Madison Park. “Verdicchio is one of the joys of Italian oenology that rarely gets the respect it deserves, and few producers do it better than Bisci.” – The Wine Advocate
One wine that will never be rated, nor see a top 100 list is the one we have today. That’s not a bad thing – it’s just their ‘secret Chardonnay.’ It’s never released to the general public or retail, only a few hundred cases are made each year to service the restaurant industry. But luckily for us, I’ve got a restaurant. And while the Sonoma Coast bottling is definitely the ‘calling card’ that you’re used to seeing from this great estate, I’m telling you the Russian River Valley Chardonnay blows that one out of the water.
