The history of Kenwood Vineyards is really a story about the pioneer spirit and embracing the wild. This is easily seen in their acquisition of vineyards – many on the outskirts of viability – and almost all claimed long before the now household name AVAs came into being and to encompass them.
Whether its their original homestead – a 1970’s outpost in Sonoma on the site of the former Pagani Brothers Ranch or their purchase of Jack London’s (yes – of White Fang fame) historic Sonoma Mountain property in 1976 or the others that now rattle off like a where’s where of the county: Ricioli and Olivet Vineyards in the Russian River, Andrew’s and Yoakim Bridge in the Dry Creek, and more.
The prize jewels – by any standard are their holdings that sprinkle through the nefarious & nebulous AVA called the Sonoma Coast which encompasses parts of the RRV along with Carneros. Two wines are drawn off of these tiny holdings – cherry picked from the very best vineyards.
This is just a beautifully balanced and super food-friendly offering – perfect for the warm days ahead. Crisp acidity and bright citrus are followed by a refreshing finish that begs for the next sip. Better yet, when you lock into a case, you lock into the best price per bottle of anybody in the country. Not too shabby for a 92-point beauty.

92 Points, Wine Spectator
Distinctive and stylish, this white offers bold passionfruit, gooseberry and lemon verbena notes on a crisp frame, with white pepper, dried pineapple and candied ginger notes on the long finish. A precise thread of acidity weaves in and out and a touch of lanolin lingers. Drink now.

Year in, year out Château Turcaud produces one of the best white wine values in the world. It’s long been found on Michelin-starred wine lists in Paris and we’ve had it at the restaurant since Day 1. If you’ve ever tried this stunning, classic Bordeaux of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle, then you know why. The new 2022 vintage has arrived and it’s beaming with energy and pure stone fruits. This is a beauty as always.
Elena Walch’s newly released 2022 Pinot Bianco continues to be the best example of Pinot Blanc anywhere. She’s the undisputed queen. There’s so much energy in this new release. Super light in color, with a busy nose that boasts ripe aromas of citrus, granny smith apple with a hint of freshly mowed grass. Made entirely in stainless steel, the wine is expressive, fresh and finishes as clean and tight as can be. Definitely will continue the run of 90+ scores once this one is reviewed.
Gold Medal (Best in Show), 2023 Mundus Vini International Tasting
The area has also been isolated from the rest of Spain for generations, which has kept the wine prices far lower than wines of this quality would be anywhere else in the world. That’s why, despite having the Torres family name on the bottle and the consistent huge press (including the Gold Medal & Best in Show at the 2023 Mundus Vini International Wine Awards in Germany), these wines can still be scooped up for under $20/bottle. It’s like the Sancerre pricing of yesteryear.
Sonoma Coast is well-known as a cool-climate region, perfect for growing Chardonnay. That’s why it’s such a big deal for Route Stock to transition over for the first time from Carnernos over to here. The newly released 2022 beams freshness and comes packed with a delightful energy in its youth. It has a pale straw color with lime hues. The aromas are of honeysuckle, orange blossom and creme brulee with layers of vanilla and a hint of toffee. The palate is lively yet soft with flavors of lemon cream pie and merange.
