The opportunity presented itself for me to grab 10 cases of this delicious well-known Napa Valley Cabernet for an unheard of price (the Best by Far in the Country) and I jumped on it immediately. A lot of our exclusive offers to our special SMS group are of the high end variety– but not today! This juicy, Napa Cab with 93 points and a glowing review from Antonio Galloni will surely disappear within a few hours, but for those lucky enough to grab a few bottles, you’re in for a treat. The Estate Cabernet is the most age-worthy wine Buehler produces and can be enjoyed anytime over the next decade and a half. “Dark cherry, plum, mocha and licorice are all amped up in the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. Ripe, unctuous and supple, the Estate offers lovely depth and textural richness from start to finish. This silky, pliant Cabernet will drink well with minimal cellaring.” -93 Points, Antonio Galloni; Vinous

The oft 100-point winemaker, Jayson Woodbridge had this to say when tasting his 2021 ‘Stargazing’ Sonoma Pinot: “The wine is vibrant and complex with subtle dark fruits and berries, grandmother’s cherry pie, minerals, and a slight touch of rain-soaked earth, intertwined with a balance and very pleasing easy-going luxury. Should have been priced higher but what the hell.” I have no doubt this clerical error will be addressed in the vintages moving forward. But for now, this is a cult Pinot for under $100/bottle.
Anne Sery describes her Trousse Chemise Cabernets as an ode to the Left Bank and her winemaking roots. It’s a beautiful and fresh Cabernet with aromas that leap from the glass with of black raspberry, violets, and creme de liquor notes. The mouth gives generous amounts of juicy black fruits at the core with hints of baking spice and a smooth, savory finish. This is a terrific partner for just about anything from hard cheese, to poultry, summer salads, you name it!

“Vignon’s 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape delivers even more than I hoped for based on a previous sample. Hints of garrigue, roses, cherries and raspberries appear on the nose, while the palate is full-bodied, silky and long, with an intense, almost briny finish. The assemblage is 50% Grenache, 10% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, plus smaller proportions of seven other permitted varieties, while the élevage includes foudres, demi-muids, concrete and wooden tanks, plus terracotta amphorae.”

“The 2021 Malbec Reserva, from Vistalba, Lujan de Cuyo, was 60% aged in barrels for 12 months. Purple in color. The nose presents notes of fresh plum and violets, white pepper, strawberry, hints of spice and aromas from the aging process. It’s initially indulgent in the mouth, with good fat, and volume and a velvety texture. The flavors are bold and full-bodied. This 2021 overdelivers at the price.” -Vinous
