Bouchaine Vineyards is established in the site of the oldest continually operated winery in Carneros in the southern end of the Napa Valley. The gorgeous estate is full committed to the pursuit of enticing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, whose grapes are best suited to the climate and soils of the beautiful 100-acre estate vineyard in this Pinot/Chard oasis. Located just north of the San Pablo and San Francisco Bays, the vineyard climate is directly influenced by the fog that rolls in each night, and the shallow, clay loam soils are perfectly suited to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Bouchaine is used to getting 90+ scores each vintage, their commitment to excellence has consistently paid dividends. If you’ve never been to this estate, I’d recommend doing so. Their hospitality, little slice of heaven and great lineup of Pinots and Chardonnays will win you over, for sure. I got the last 18 cases of Chardonnay for the vintage at a super special (lowest in the country by far), one time ‘Email Only’ price. Enjoy!

92 Points, James Suckling
Subtle aromas and flavors of peach, baked apple, hazelnut and toast. It’s full-bodied with creamy layers of stone fruit, balanced with subtle cedar and flint. Long and elegant. Drink or hold.
91 Points, Wine Spectator
Rich and fruit-filled, with well-focused apple pastry, peach, quince, and tangerine flavors that lengthen out with buttery richness mid-palate. The spicy finish features toasty notes. Drink now through 2023.

Just in time, we got back Vincent Ricard’s all-time great white wine bargain. This is a crisp, clean and flat out delicious Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The protege to the Silex-style of Dagueneau – who over the last 15 years has produced flawless and beloved white wines that at last count were on the wine lists of over 36 Michelin-starred restaurants. This is a great house white and one that can surely hold its own with just about everything on the table.
The newly released 2022 Domaine Laroche Chablis Saint Martin has some big shoes to fill as the last four vintages have earned 92-points or higher, but the early indications are that this is line with previous vintages if not even a little bit ahead at this stage. The problem is – there’s almost none to go around with much smaller yields. Still this is beautiful and crisp, with good focus, energy and depth. I get the signature green fruits on the nose, with some Asian pear, and a hint of jasmine blossom. There’s a beautiful mineral streak that highlights this one. It’s a fantastic White Burg for the price.
Glistening pale yellow-green to the rim, infused with mouth-watering aromas of ripe apple, pear and quince, and crushed almonds with honey and rich creamy middle and a fantastic rush of acidity and minerality that are present throughout. A calling card of Bonhomme’s Vire-Clesse, if you closed your eyes and took a sip, it would have you convinced you were drinking Meursault at least a 3x price tag.
The Zenato family has built up quite the reputation for delivering exceptional value with their red and whites in Veneto. Their Pinot Grigio is a particularly great value, punching way above its weight class. Delicately scented and soft on the palate, it offers classic citrus and floral notes in a balanced elegant style. It’s smooth and refreshing with a long, pleasant finish. Great with food.
