This is one of a handful of wines we’ve overed from Stéphane Ogier, and all of them have been really outstanding.
Stéphane has become quite the force in the Rhone and one of France’s brightest young stars. His Côte-Rôties are some of the wine world’s most celebrated collectibles with the single-vineyard bottlings starting at $300/bottle and going up from there. Jeb Dunnuck made a world-wide appeal, calling it “one of the most exciting domaines in the world of wine today” & the multiple 100 point scores have helped as well.
The 2017 Vacqueyras from Ogier is a standout – says both me and The Wine Advocate who tasted it blindly (They called it was one of the very best of the tasting). The nose carries subtle flavors of thyme and Provençal herbs on a woody aromatic background- discreet notes of violet and black cherry. It’s a full-bodied expression that is particularly well balanced with spices and fresh fruits and very elegant tannins.

“A pleasant surprise to emerge from this year’s blind tastings was the fine showing of Ogier’s 2017 Vacqueyras Boiseraie. A blend of 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, aged in a mix of tank, foudre and demi-muids, this full-bodied, supple wine combines garrigue with ripe raspberries and chocolate overtones. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.”
90 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
“The 2017 Vacqueyras Boiseraie is more elegant, with pretty black raspberries, flowers, and spice aromas and flavors. Elegant, medium-bodied, silky and polished, with juicy acidity, it’s a terrific wine to enjoy over the coming 4-6 years.”

Anne Sery describes her Trousse Chemise Cabernets as an ode to the Left Bank and her winemaking roots. It’s a beautiful and fresh Cabernet with aromas that leap from the glass with of black raspberry, violets, and creme de liquor notes. The mouth gives generous amounts of juicy black fruits at the core with hints of baking spice and a smooth, savory finish. This is a terrific partner for just about anything from hard cheese, to poultry, summer salads, you name it!
#24 Wine of the Year (2022), Wine Spectator

“This supple red shows a core of cherry and plum fruit allied to olive, juniper and tobacco notes. Delivers well-integrated tannins and acidic structure, lingering nicely on the finish.”
The 2021 Napa Valley East side Cuvee is an instant classic. From the first whiff to the moment it hits the lips, its clear that this is a fabulously concentrated, serious wine: black in color, and featuring aromas of cassis, cedar and chocolate-tinged purple fruit. The mouthfeel is plush and voluptuous with a firm, solid finish that speaks to its potential for considerable aging.

“The 2018 Palmer is a legend in the making…This audacious Palmer was still revving its engines 48 hours after opening. There will never be another Palmer like this, sui generis. It was a massive risk. But by throwing caution to the wind, something extraordinary was born.” -100 points, Vinous
