Diletta Tonello is a young winemaker who is turning heads with her Champagne method Italian sparkling wines. Diletta recently started her own micro wine project at her family’s winery, originally founded in 1980. Diletta grew up around the winery and then attended a high school focused on agriculture. She then went on to study winemaking in Padua. Following school, she spent a few years working harvests in other regions to broaden her experience before returning to the winery to assume the role of winemaker in 2013.
She owns 12 hectares of vines in the prime subzone for Durella, the Montorso Vicentino area nestled between Verona and Vicenza. The soil in this appellation is volcanic clay which adds a salinity and minerality to the wines. The vineyards were mostly planted in 1989 and are grown on traditional pergola veronese and are hand-harvested. The winery is scheduled to be certified organic later this year, though they have been working organically for many years.
This gorgeous wine is fermented in stainless steel and then assembled in the winter. The wine undergoes the secondary fermentation in the bottle where is stays on the lees for 36 months. After disgorging, it stays in the cellar for at least three months before release. Just read the review below — it speaks volumes to the quality of this one!

96 Points, Kerin O’Keefe – Wine Enthusiast
This radiant, bone-dry sparkler boasts racy tension that counters tangy citrus, yellow apple and saline mineral sensations. An extremely refined perlage and crisp acidity carry through to the pristine, mouthwatering finish. Lessini Durello Metodo Classico is one of Italy’s greatest sparklers and winemaker Diletta Tonello one of the denomination’s star producers.

91 Points, Vinous
Eric Guido of Vinous just reviewed a number of Bele Casel wines last week and lobbed heaps of praise for each and every one of them. For this one in particular, he wrote a great review that I agree with on multiple fronts. For one, he called out ripe orchard fruits and candied citrus which I think helps set this one apart. In the dry category, you rarely get so much pure, juicy fruit as you do in this one. He also noted the “chalky minerality’ before calling out ‘the amazing length and freshness’ of this wine which called an ‘excellent entry into the dry category’.
Fresh off a huge feature in The Wall Street Journal in which they were crowned as the top Prosecco Rose in a lineup of 14, I suspect what was once our little secret will explode. James Suckling also finally got around to tasting it and gave it 91 points. I’d rate it even higher. The 2021 Bisol Jeio Brut Prosecco Rosé is remarkable, and simply put, mouth-wateringly delicious. Inviting aromas of flowers and wild strawberries, with a complex mouthfeel that sings with citrus fruits and creaminess from the tiny crisp bubbles.
94 Points, James Suckling – 94 Points, Wine Spectator (#22 Wine of 2023) – 93 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate – 93 Points, Vinous
“A solidly built red introduced by aromas of mint, lavender and wild rosemary. Shows cherry, raspberry, earth, iron, sanguine and tobacco flavors allied to an almost viscous texture as this cruises to the long finish. Impressive now, yet will be better in three to five years. Best from 2026 through 2045.”
Always a big customer favorite, this is a fantastic and fun bottle to enjoy on it’s own, but it is also a showstopper with pizza or any dinner table. Made for those who love their wines with inky dark fruit, this boasts a jet black color with aromas of black cherry, blackberries and baked cake spice. The Langhe Dolcetto is the product of extremely low-yielding but highly concentrated juice that comes from the younger vines of her Estate.
