The Commanderie de Peyrassol is emblematic of the rich viticultural history of Provence, having produced wine in the region for almost 800 years. Today, Peyrassol makes a range of high quality wines that build upon the long history of the winery and the iconic terroir of the region with contemporary winery facilities.
The estate sits in the foothills of the massif des Maures, 10 miles from the Mediterranean Sea between Cannes and Marseille and has 95 hectares planted to vineyards cultivated on dry, rocky clay and limestone soils.
The winery has consciously maintained organic practices in full respect of the surrounding environment, aiming for certification in the coming years. No synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or fungicides are used in the vineyards. The age of the vines, the rocky terrain, and the hot, dry climate all do their part to severely restrict yields.
The ‘Commanders’ red blend comes in at 70% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Grenache and is a juicy, easy drinking Red. With over 800 years of winemaking, Peyrassol is best known for their iconic clay and limestone soils that produce mouthwatering Rhone blends. On the mouth – red licorice, white pepper and small red and black currants. It’s smooth with a little spice that lingers on the round and full finish.

The mouthfeel is plush and voluptuous with a firm, solid finish that speaks to its potential for considerable aging.

Anne Sery describes her Trousse Chemise Cabernets as an ode to the Left Bank and her winemaking roots. It’s a beautiful and fresh Cabernet with aromas that leap from the glass with of black raspberry, violets, and creme de liquor notes. The mouth gives generous amounts of juicy black fruits at the core with hints of baking spice and a smooth, savory finish.
