It astonishes me that a wine of this quality and provenance is available at such a ridiculous price point. But – this is a passion project for Pierre Lurton, the managing director of the infamous Cheval Blanc and Yquem.
He lives on the property now and describes it’s appeal: “Marjosse is my secret garden. It gives me energy. It is important for me to have this place and share it.”
Despite receiving similar treatment in the cellar to his other infamous estates – each parcel vinified separately, half new oak, and receiving dozens of great scores and reviews, the wines are among the best values in the entire wine world. We have 3 straight vintage of very highly rated Marjosse Bordeaux for an incredibly good price today. Each vertical sampler pack includes:
(4 btls.) Chateau Marjosse Bordeaux 2018 – 92+ Pts, Wine Advocate – 92 Pts, Wine Independent
(4 btls.)Chateau Marjosse Bordeaux 2019 – 93 Pts, Wine Independent – 92 Pts, Wine Advocate

2020 Chateau Marjosse
94 Points, Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Independent
93 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Marjosse comes barreling out of the glass with rambunctious scents of cassis, crushed blackberries and black plum preserves, followed by hints of dark chocolate, anise and tar, plus a fragrant waft of lavender. The medium-bodied palate is soft, juicy and wonderfully refreshing, delivering wonderful poise and expression with a fun burst of pure black fruit on the finish. Delicious!
2019 Chateau Marjosse
93 Points, Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Independent
92 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate
“Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Marjosse has a come-hither nose of kirsch, stewed black cherries and warm plums with hints of spice cake, wilted roses, oolong tea and Sichuan pepper. The medium-bodied palate is plushy textured with bags of scrumptious black and red fruits and a lively backbone, finishing fragrant.”
2018 Chateau Marjosse
93 Points, Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Independent
92+ Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2018 Marjosse is made up of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc with a splash of old Malbec. Big old barrels were used for 25% of the crop. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with a compelling nose of baking spices, raspberry pie, warm red and black currants, rose hip tea and fragrant earth with a waft of wild sage. Medium-bodied, the palate is filled with fragrant red and black fruit, framed by great freshness and soft, supple tannins, finishing on a floral note.

100 Points, Jeb Dunnuck – 99 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate – 99 Points, Lisa Perotti-Brown
“Pure perfection in a glass, the incredible 2009 Troplong Mondot offers off the chart notes of blackcurrants, licorice, truffles and saddle leather that just soar from the glass. This is a big, ripe, incredibly sexy wine that hits the palate with a huge texture, building, ripe tannin, no weight, and a finish that just won’t quit. Utterly brilliant stuff, it’s slightly more approachable than the 2005, but both of these vintages play in the same style. Drink bottles anytime over the coming two to three decades. Bravo!” -Jeb Dunnuck
92 Points, Wine Enthusiast
The 2021 Auctioneer is a Napa Cabernet that sizzles at this price point, incredibly well built and food friendly, with impeccable balance and not overly alcoholic or ripe. It’s a wine that wins you over with finesse over strength but one that I’m certain will win you over nonetheless. A priceless ode to a late father and a Napa legend is available today at a price that’s hard to ignore.
98 Points, Vinous
“The 2021 Pinot Noir Ygnacia Hyde Vineyard is another magnificent wine from Hyde De Villaine. Vertical, deep and explosive, the 2021 possesses tremendous depth from start to finish. Dark red/purplish berry fruit, lavender, pomegranate, and spice notes are all beautifully amplified. The 2021 was done with fully destemmed fruit, sourced from 2.5 acres planted in 2010 with four different selections. What stands out most in the wine’s natural concentration.” -Vinous
90+ Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“This estate in Saint-Christoly-Médoc has long produced great value, quintessentially Médoc-styled wines, and the 2016 La Tour St Bonnet has turned out especially well. Offering up aromas of sweet blackcurrant fruit intermingled with notions of loamy soil, tobacco leaf and vanilla pod, it’s medium to full-bodied, with powdery tannins and a nicely concentrated core of fruit. Robert Parker once described this estate as producing a miniature Grand-Puy-Lacoste, and that observation continues to resonate with me. While the 2016 drinks well today, a bit more time in the cellar will only pay dividends.” -Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
