Knock-out wines at every price point, huge Parker scores and really sharp pricing easily makes Xavier Vignon one of Nicholas Wines most requested and commented upon producer. He continues to add to his portfolio of wines, each time pulling another rabbit from his hat that wows both critics and consumers alike.
His latest release, a dry, Provençal-styled rosé comes from 80-100 year old vines rooted in clay and gravel soils in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Lirac. It’s a killer bottle of rosé, loaded with raspberry and wild strawberry aromas and flavors, touched with subtle, savory spice. It’s fresh, vibrant wine, perfect with the cuisine of summer. It’s a wine for Tuesday night made by one of the masters of the Saturday nighter. But it always runs out too quickly so jump on it right now!

This is a killer bottle of wine! Everything Xavier makes flies out the door at Nicholas and for good reason. He’s consistently one of the best winemakers in CdP.

Though it’s fruity, this wine is bone-dry making it an ideal wine to pair with food. Might we suggest a watermelon salad with cucumbers and feta cheese?!?
At 350 feet above sea level, growing seasons are often extended with warm days and cool, breezy nights. The diurnal changes of temperature help create healthy vines and grapes that are packed full of complexity, concentration and energy. Ain’t a whole of Provence wineries that can compare. We’ve offered Val de Caire’s spectacular Provence Rouge before, but their bread and butter wine, the Coteaux d’Aix en-Provence Rose has finally been imported into the U.S. for the first time. People are gonna go nuts for this wine.
94 Points, Tasting Panel – 90 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The winery made famous by Brad Pitt and Angelina is more famous in the wine world for their fleet of top Provencal Roses made by none other than superstar winemaker Marc Perrin, who has countless times turned the wine world on its head with his 100-point Chateauneuf du Papes at Chateau de Beaucastel. His 2022 Miraval Rose has a great salmon color with juicy notes of macerated cherries, strawberry currants, citrus and a lemon zest. It flashes that refreshing minerality that has become a Provence signature but crafted at 1100 ft above sea level, its crispness and vibrancy is unparalleled.
Fresh off a huge feature in The Wall Street Journal in which they were crowned as the top Prosecco Rose in a lineup of 14, I suspect what was once our little secret will explode. James Suckling also finally got around to tasting it and gave it 91 points. I’d rate it even higher. The 2021 Bisol Jeio Brut Prosecco Rosé is remarkable, and simply put, mouth-wateringly delicious. Inviting aromas of flowers and wild strawberries, with a complex mouthfeel that sings with citrus fruits and creaminess from the tiny crisp bubbles.
Just in time, we got back Vincent Ricard’s all-time great white wine bargain. This is a crisp, clean and flat out delicious Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The protege to the Silex-style of Dagueneau – who over the last 15 years has produced flawless and beloved white wines that at last count were on the wine lists of over 36 Michelin-starred restaurants. This is a great house white and one that can surely hold its own with just about everything on the table.
