The 2018 Pomarium Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir is a big, powerful dark-fruited gem. This one is built for the long haul, and will take a little time to open up (as Antonio Galloni suggests). Give it time in the cellar or time in the glass, but don’t rush in.
That’s because it’s a GIANT. What normally is a five clone blend, wound up this year just having two: Dijon 667 and Calera. That left this wine with a dark purple hue and wonderful flavors of black cherries, blueberries, herbs and spices. 96 points from Antonio Galloni of Vinous.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Estate Pomarium is the most inward of the Peay 2018 Pinots. There is good depth and density but the 2018 is decidedly inward looking today. A wine of power and drive, the Pomarium needs time to unwind, that’s pretty clear. At the same time, the potential is evident. Time in the glass brings out scents of rose petal, lavender, mint, sage and spice, along with gorgeous red/purplish berry fruit.
Peay has quickly cemented itself in the top pantheon of Sonoma wineries.

This is a really exciting new release in the collection of single-vineyards from the Wagner Family, and arguably the most interesting one of the bunch. This is the only Pinot Noir in the Caymus collection that has the advantage of being from a natural Pinot Noir haven in the Russian River Valley. Dairyman Vineyard’s proximity to the pacific ocean, with its morning fog and afternoon coastal breezes allows for an even and elongated growing season, with super concentrated and expressive grape clusters that help make this Dijon clone Pinot Noir one that you need.

Damien has crafted a delicious Médoc, full of character with dense black currant and cherry fruit, cedar, tobacco and wonderful complexity. It’s silky complexion is what pushes it over the edge (and, of course, the price!) It doesn’t hurt that it comes from a 95-point Left Bank vintage that the Wine Advocate declared, “outstanding.”
It’s always nice to be in good standing with one of the most beloved wine brands in America! These won’t last long! This is an opulent, powerful dark-fruited Cabernet with tightly woven tannins, that is just raring and ready to go. Textbook, full-bodied, revved up and ready to go, this new Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet is the definition of a crowd pleaser.

The new release is here from outstanding winemaking team of Michel Rolland, Charles Thomas, Andy Erickson and David Jelenik. This one always represents one of the best quality-to-price ratios in all of Napa Cab and in the stellar 2021 vintage, this really stands out as one of the best the Valley has to offer. It’s a racy mix of Coombsville fruit from Atlas Peak that absolutely roars out of the bottle. Always one of Napa’s great bargains and a must have even as the price starts to sneak up here a little bit.
