A special offering by the famous Kentucky distillery, Buffalo Trace and named after the 19th century whiskey salesman who built one of the largest and most influential distilleries in the U.S. at the time. What is now Buffalo Trace was once known as the George T Stagg distillery.
2015 is arguably the hardest bottle of George T Stagg to get your hands on. It has probably the best nose on any of the George T Stagg’s I can remember. Wonderful aromas of chocolate, coffee, caramel and a hint of vanilla. An overwhelmingly powerful punch as these so often do, but with just over 84% of the original whiskey lost to evaporation in this bottling, every sip that you have gives you a full display.
Distilled in 200 and aged for 15 years in warehouses C, H, I, L, M, N, K and Q, mostly on floors 1,2,4, 5 and 6. Only two of these babies to go around. I have to admit, I’m surprised I could even get these two.
Paying homage to the salesman, these bottlings are incredibly rare and offer some of the finest examples of Whiskey made.

Rich and creamy notes of toasted oak, vanilla, caramel, and fresh baked Bundt cake immediately flood the sense’s as soon as you pop this one open. Bottled at 100-Proof, you get a little bit of heat on the front palate followed by rich oak, leather and freshly baked bread. As it starts to open, you get some sweeter, creamy vanilla notes that cream in as well as campfire s’mores and a dash of pepper. The finish is long, and a bit spicy which leaves a memorable aftertaste and leaves you wanting more.
The third release of three batches from Booker’s Bourbon 2023 Collection is Booker’s Batch 2023-03 ‘Might Fine Batch.’ These mini-releases have become extremely popular, and for good reason. “The vanilla and brown sugar sweet notes come through very well from the white oak barrels this bourbon aged in for over seven years. The taste is great and full bodied; when I added a splash of water, it opened up some great flavors, with a finish that gives a lovely “Kentucky Hug. In the 2020 vintage in Gevrey-Chambertin, yields were super low and temperatures were hotter than most Burgundian winemakers are accustomed. Many picked too late when the sugars were high and the fruit really ripe, but that was not the play. Still, Ann remained as cool in those hot temps as she did so many years ago in Napa, concentrating more on acid levels than sugars and picking at just the right time. This wine is absolutely singing – it’s an age-worthy beauty that should be even better in 4-7 years.
