Ry Richards’ Fiancetto is a decidedly no-frills operation. It is a bare-bones Napa Valley Cabernet project but with a distinctly complex style that belies its start-up winery structure.
You see, Ry’s day job is at one of Napa’s iconic estates, Chappellet, where he assists Phil Titus in all aspects of sourcing and winemaking. It leaves him in the perfect position to carve out great lots of wine for his own labels. If these lots of wine bore the nationally branded label they were intended for, they would sell for twice the Nicholas Wines price. But, Fiancetto is still a start-up and Ry needs to sell almost as fast as he makes it so for those in the know, Fiancetto is always an incredible deal. In the case of the 2017, it’s just about half off!
The latest rendition of the Gravelly Loam cuvée was sourced from warm vineyard sites on the Valley floor; their old vines rooted in the well-drained, gravelly soil that is just perfect for producing ripe Cabernet. The 2017 is jet black to the rim with primary aromas of cigar box, black fruit and mocha. The wine is just packed, with jammy flavors of red current, plum, and black berries. The finish is long and fruity with ripe, supple tannins. This is a big and powerful Cab, perfect for a juicy steak or just by itself.
Drink now for the incredible primary fruit or cellar for the next 3-5 years. But don’t delay, as past customers will attest, there is never enough of any of the 50% off Fiancetto Cabernet bargains!

#3 Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2021
96 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate – 95 Points, Wine Spectator
We are one of the very few folks who have Wine Spectator’s #3 Wine of the Year. This is definitely not one to miss. The 2016 vintage showcases this prized vineyard in all its glory; notes of wild black fruit, thyme, mint, eucalyptus, and bay are lifted and enjoyed with the polished tannin and mouthwatering freshness of this wine. Regarded as one of the best vintages in the last few decades, the 2016 Martha’s Vineyard has been aged to perfection for immediate enjoyment at release and will continue to reward for the next 20+ years.
90 Points, James Suckling
Damien has crafted a delicious Médoc, full of character with dense black currant and cherry fruit, cedar, tobacco and wonderful complexity. It’s silky complexion is what pushes it over the edge (and, of course, the price!) It doesn’t hurt that it comes from a 95-point Left Bank vintage that the Wine Advocate declared, “outstanding.”
100 Points, Decanter – 100 Points, Vinous – 99 Points, Wine Enthusiast – 99 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate – 99+ Points, Jeb Dunnuck – 98 Points, Wine Spectator – 98 Points, James Suckling
“The 2018 Palmer is a legend in the making…This audacious Palmer was still revving its engines 48 hours after opening. There will never be another Palmer like this, sui generis. It was a massive risk. But by throwing caution to the wind, something extraordinary was born.” -100 points, Vinous
With seemingly infinite access to some of the absolute very best vineyards in the most choice AVAs in the valley, the Wagner’s set out to make Quilt– a Cabernet blend from a patchwork of the top sites in Napa (Oakville, St Helena, Atlas Peak, Coombsville, Calistoga, and Howell Mountain.) The brand new 2021 edition is a beauty – deeply concentrated, rich and a truly show stopping Cabernet. It’s a dark, hedonistic blend that combines elegance with power and pairs the two together effortlessly.
