Wyoming Whiskey Private Stock Nicholas Single Barrel Reserve Bourbon Whiskey:
I had this bottled at cask strength and it came in at a fairly whopping 117 proof. This is another of those bottles for the serious bourbon drinkers.
Bouquet: Freshly Baked Bread, Orange Rind, Honey, Syrup
Palate: Honey, burnt orange, caramel and, cinnamon with winter spice.
Finish: Long and smooth with a nice slow burn that tapers off with smooth notes of spice. You never feel the heat, but at 58.5% alc. it is definitely one that will pack a big punch – but you’ll absolutely love it.
Knob Creek Nicholas Barrel Reserve #4 Select Bourbon:
After nearly 30 samples, I stumbled upon this latest barrel and knew I had to bring it back to New Jersey. This juice was insane. This one came from Floor 6 and Rick 73. She was born on January 9th, 2013 and was bottled back in July. I’m thrilled with how this is drinking right out of the gates. I can’t imagine this one will be around very long.
This has a ton of energy and inviting aromas that just flood right out of the bottle. You’re greeted right away to a big burst of toffee, freshly baked banana bread, with toasted wheat, and even a splash of chocolate. There are some secondary really nice spiced notes that really compliment the dried fruit and brown sugar flavors. It’s incredibly smooth with a creamy middle and a finish that gives you that unmistakable warm “Kentucky Hug” that wraps around you nice and tight.

True whiskey and Knob Creek enthusiasts are going to go nuts for this one. Knob Creek Rye is as outstanding as it is rare but today we’re lucky enough to bring to you, my own single barrel of it. This is a big gold expression of Rye that holds nothing back. On the nose, there are hints of dill, rye and essence of charred oak. On the palate, you are hit over the head with baking spice, honey and freshly baked bread. The finish is certainly a warm “Kentucky Hug” that goes on forever.

“Truly great stuff, this wine performed at a three-digit level both in the horizontal tasting of 2005s in Baltimore, as well as in Montreal at this mini-vertical. This sensational, opaque, bluish/purple wine offers up notes of vanillin, spring flowers, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, plus a touch of licorice. The wine hits the palate with a thunderous cascade of ripe, rich, concentrated fruit. It is full-bodied, multidimensional and layered. The tannins are beautifully integrated but still present, and the wood, acidity, alcohol, etc., are all beautifully assimilated in this magnificent, majestic vintage of Angelus.” -Robert Parker, Jr.
This is definitely one of the most unique private barrels of bourbon you’re gonna find anywhere and it comes from our friends at in Kirby at Wyoming Whiskey. It’s been two years since we’ve had this baby! They make their own whiskey in-house instead of getting it shipped to them and finishing it. In doing so, they use winter wheat to churn out a medium length whiskey with notes of honey, burnt sugar, cinnamon and caramel on the finish. It’s sensational – but I only have 120 bottles from this barrel to offer up.
