Drawn from two choice spots in the critically scorching hot Columbia Valley where Washington’s high desert land meets the Columbia River – the 2018 Cascade Heights is a juicy, inky purple, full-bodied Cabernet. Despite the bright tannins that argue for a successful drinking window of over 10+ years, this big, juicy cab is drinking excellent right now. The ‘X’ factor though is the price. Anne Sery can bring value no one else seems to be able to bring.
92 Points, James Suckling
Double Canyon continues to prove themselves amongst the best producers in Washington State with their third consecutive vintage of at least a 92 point score for this Cabernet. The 2017 Horse Hills comes roaring right out of the gates with beautiful, clean red fruits. On the attack, the wine offers intricately woven youthful tannins that give the wine a delicious and slightly chewy taste.
Anne Sery’s graceful ode to the Left Bank. Deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with odors of black raspberry, violets, and creme liquor. The mouth gives generous amounts of juicy black fruits at the core with hints of baking spice and bay leaves and a smooth, savory finish. Having seen no time in tank and all in oak, it is layered with long smooth tannins and a full-bodied supple mouthfeel.
