Carl Roy Stag’s Leap District Cabernet Blend 2018
All of the best steakhouses from California to New York City line up to get their hands on Carl Roy’s juice, a Cabernet blend that explodes from the jump and dazzles with laser-like precision and focus. But this year, things are different and that means we got a call we never expected. Always a silver lining. This is the perfect party Cab, delicious by itself or a great complement to just about anything off the grill.
Clos Julien Price Canyon Chardonnay 2019
The 2019 Clos Julien is a classic example of California coastal Chardonnay, zippy-fresh and long on the palate. It starts out with a great nose of Granny Smith apple, citrus rind and acacia. In the mouth, the fruit is pure, with plenty of extract and the finish is clean and crisp. This Pacific-influenced wine is the perfect house white, delicious by itself as an aperitif but a fantastic foil to the cuisine of summer, scallops, grilled poultry, and summer corn.
Elouan Oregon Pinot Noir 2017
Caymus’ Joe Wagner’s luscious 2017 pinot project is wonderfully ripe, with vibrant flavors of rich cranberry, sweet cinnamon and bright cherry with just a touch of earthiness. It’s packed with fruit and finishes with soft, refined tannins. It’s a great choice for a summer red, delicious by itself or pair with just about anything.
Poggio al Sole Primavera Rosato 2019
The 2019 Primavera is a Rosato that has far more going on than meets the eye. It’s incredibly smooth and dry, making it a great food wine– but this Rosé is serious with depth and complexity, making it guzzle worthy for summertime on the patio.

Pinot Noir is so food friendly, that’s one of the best parts about it. Great with meat and cheese boards, salads, pastas and just about any hunk of meat you put on a table.
92 Points, James Suckling
This Big Red completely sings with high-toned fruit, a wonderful natural acidity from the elevation, and super-clean, super-concentrated black and blue fruits. You get the blackberry, blueberry, and violet treatment at first with chewy tannins, a hint of minerality, and a juicy, lingering finish.
One of my favorite places to look for great Tuesday nighters are the sandy, limestone-laden hills of Asti. Although it is better known for the Moscato, Grignolino should be its calling card because in almost no places of the world does it thrive like it does here. Gianni Doglia naturally farms a tiny estate in the picturesque hamlet of Castagnole Lanze. His Grignolino is the product of 50+ year old vines, vinfied without oak to preserve its incredible fruit. Light in color to the core, bright and wonderfully aromatic, this is food-friendly red wine that can double just as well all on its own.
Stephan Steinmetz is a star in the Mosel wine region. His old vines are rooted in Kimmeridgian limestone, the exact same vein of rock that winds its way from Sancerre through Chablis and Champagne to its final out-cropping here in the Obermosel. His Elbling is glorious — both completely unlike anything I’ve ever had and also eerily familiar. The color is almost clear, some might call it silver. A stunning nose of green apples and lemon peel gives way to fresh pear and bright citrus fruits on the palate. It’s a stunningly focused wine with a healthy dose of minerality and acid zip, not unlike great Sancerre/Chablis and bone dry.
Year in, year out Château Turcaud produces one of the best white wine values in the world. It’s long been found on Michelin-starred wine lists in Paris and we’ve had it at the restaurant since Day 1. If you’ve ever tried this stunning, classic Bordeaux of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle, then you know why. The new 2022 vintage has arrived and it’s beaming with energy and pure stone fruits. This is a beauty as always.
