It took almost three years for me to be able to pick out my own barrel of Clyde May’s. Before that, I was always just offered me their Alabama Whiskey. Not that it’s not great – it is, but I’m a purist and like high proof straight bourbon. Thankfully, my persistence paid off last and I was able to select a 5-year old Bourbon. Coming from Alabama, I wasn’t sure how it was going to do…
If you’re wondering how I was able to get a second barrel, (while most wait for the chance to pick out their first) I’ll tell you exactly how. The Bourbon Buyers Club. After telling my friends in Alabama we sold our entire barrel in just two days, the team down there was crazy excited (maybe they think we all just drink Cranberry juice) and offered us a second barrel of their prized whiskey. Our club has grown a little bit since our last offering, so I would not wait around too long for this one.

95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck – 94 Points, Vinous
The 2005 Château Barde-Haut Saint-Emilion is the one you want. They totally outdid themselves in this vintage and I’d say that without the 95 and 94-point reviews. It’s just a gorgeous wine at an incredible price that over delivers every step of the way. Think black fruits, hints of spice, and an elegant structure that’s singing right now. It’s no wonder this wine is sought after by collectors.
This is definitely one of the most unique private barrels of bourbon you’re gonna find anywhere and it comes from our friends at in Kirby at Wyoming Whiskey. It’s been two years since we’ve had this baby! They make their own whiskey in-house instead of getting it shipped to them and finishing it. In doing so, they use winter wheat to churn out a medium length whiskey with notes of honey, burnt sugar, cinnamon and caramel on the finish. It’s sensational – but I only have 120 bottles from this barrel to offer up.
This is the very first 2024 installment of the limited production project from the Bourbon leaders, Booker’s and their iconic master distiller, Freddie Noe. They’re calling this batch ‘Springfield Batch’ as an homage to Booker Noe’s hometown in Kentucky where he was born and raised. This is a little bit of an older age statement than the last few in the series at 7 years, 7 months, and 8 days. It was bottled at 62% alc (124 Proof).
True whiskey and Knob Creek enthusiasts are going to go nuts for this one. Knob Creek Rye is as outstanding as it is rare but today we’re lucky enough to bring to you, my own single barrel of it. This is a big gold expression of Rye that holds nothing back. On the nose, there are hints of dill, rye and essence of charred oak. On the palate, you are hit over the head with baking spice, honey and freshly baked bread. The finish is certainly a warm “Kentucky Hug” that goes on forever.
