From one of the best Loire wineries and one that Vinous recently dubbed, “a benchmark producer of Saumur-Champigny”. This wine in particular is coming off this month’s Eric Asimov New York Times ’20 Under 20′ feature, this is the newly released Saumur Blanc is a racy and lively treat. It mixes aromas of ripe apple and melon mingled with ginger and honeysuckle all elegantly lifting from the glass and leading to a concentrated core of peach and apricot flavors. The finish lasts forever– chalky, super crisp and as mineral as can be with a wonderful spice component that lingers.
Top notch Chenin grown on a biodynamically farmed parcel of gravel over limestone and flint. Vinified dry in steel with no wood aging. From the glass, complex Aromas of Anjou pear, citron, white flowers and cream soar with just a touch of jasmine and honey. On the palate, the wine is rich yet still bone dry with a vibrant core of peach and pear fruits and a fresh crackling of saline and minerality. The zipped up acidity makes this wine both fantastic at the table and a great candidate for aging.

The 2022 MAN is a winner. A light straw color, it leads with clean bursts of stone fruits, with some quince, Asian pear, and a little bit of green apple and jasmine that come in towards the end. Super fresh, great acid, perfect balance—this is the quintessential summer white wine!
