92 Points, Wine Spectator

The subtle influence of new oak accents this red’s cherry, blackberry, iron and tar flavors. Vibrant and dense, with a fresh, energetic finish, showing excellent balance. Best from 2026 through 2038.

You might be able to hear the celebrations echoing through Castelnuovo Berardenga in Chianti. Who could blame them? Vallepiccola, a tiny Tuscan winery has good reason to party – their winery just achieved something extraordinary. Out of nearly 18,000 wines tasted, Wine Spectator named their 2021 Chianti Classico not only the region’s best, but also #37 on their list of the Top 100 Wines of 2024.

This is a rare first chance at a Wine Spectator Top 100 wine – especially this late after publication. But even before the three pallets were on a boat to America, this beauty was receiving one of wine’s highest honors. That extra little delay at the winery means we can offer this insane gem at a stunning price.
