91 Points, James Suckling
Good tension between cool herbal aromas and ripe mirabelle character. The crisp lemony acidity is married to generous body and some chalky minerality on the medium-bodied palate. Good length and a precise harmony at the long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.

The Thorle winery in Germany is a hidden gem in the Rheinhessen region. Owned by brothers Christoph and Johannes Thörle since 2006, it boasts a rich history dating back to the 16th century. Everything they do at the winery is organic and biodynamic and that includes hand harvesting their grapes.

Perfectly nestled in the village of Saulheim, Thorle benefits from top-choice Rheinhessen vineyards. The vineyards sit on a fascinating mix of soils, including calcareous limestone, clay, and loess, all contributing unique characteristics to their wines. The brothers make Riesling and Silvaner in addition to Pinot Noir and even experiment with small amounts of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. At the end of the day, they hang their hat on their dry Rieslings above all – and they’re consistently highly rated by some of the world’s most popular wine critics.
